Our product catalog is a hand-picked shortlist of fertilizers, grass seed, weed and pest control, irrigation gear, soil amendments, and maintenance tools that we think actually work for U.S. lawns. Every item links to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you, which is what funds the calculators and the editorial content. We don't list anything we wouldn't recommend on a friend's lawn, and we drop products that go out of stock or get reformulated for the worse.

How to pick the right product
The biggest mistake most homeowners make is buying a product before figuring out what their lawn actually needs. Spend ten minutes upstream of the purchase and the rest of the season gets easier. Four checks before you click add-to-cart:
1. Match to your grass type. A fertilizer that works for Kentucky Bluegrass can be wrong for Centipede. A herbicide safe on Bermuda can yellow St. Augustine. The grass-type guides spell out which products are safe and effective for each of the 10 species we cover. If you're not sure what you have, start with the photo identifier on the homepage.
2. Size your lawn first. Almost every fertilizer, herbicide, and seed bag is rated in coverage per 1,000 square feet. Buying without that number means buying too much or too little. The Lawn Size Calculator handles irregular shapes and gives you a number you can plug straight into the bag math.
3. Apply at the right time. The right fertilizer in the wrong month is wasted money, and the right pre-emergent applied two weeks late lets the weed seeds you're trying to stop germinate first. The Herbicide Timing tool tracks the live application window for your ZIP, and the Soil Temperature tracker tells you when the soil is warm enough for warm-season fertilization or seeding to take.
4. Avoid the obvious traps.Don't apply weed-and-feed near tree roots if the herbicide is a broadleaf killer. Don't fertilize in summer heat unless the bag is specifically a slow-release summer formula for warm-season grass. Don't buy bargain seed without a tag listing germination rate and weed-seed percentage. Don't mix grass species in a blend that fights itself.
