The calculators run on your device. No account, no ads, no tracking of your browsing.
The only network call is to fetch live soil temperature for a ZIP code you enter.
The short version
The extension is a set of lawn calculators in your browser toolbar. Four of the five tools (fertilizer, lawn size, watering, and cost) run entirely on your device. It does not create an account, show ads, sell data, or track the pages you visit.
What is stored on your device
Your most recent inputs (such as grass type, lawn size, and ZIP code) are saved locally using the browser's extension storage, so the popup remembers them next time. This stays on your device, is never sent to us, and is removed when you uninstall the extension.
What is sent to our servers
When you use the Soil Temperature tool, the ZIP code you enter is sent to whatgrassisthis.com to look up local soil temperatures. It is not attached to any identity or account. The other four calculators make no network requests at all.
When you tap a result button, it opens the matching tool on our website with your inputs pre-filled. Those links include standard campaign parameters (UTM) so we can see that visits came from the extension. Once you are on the website, our main Privacy Policy applies.
Permissions the extension uses
- Storage: to remember your last-used inputs on your device.
- Access to whatgrassisthis.com: only to fetch live soil temperature for the ZIP you enter. It is not used to read any other site.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your personal information.
- We do not read your browsing history or the content of other websites.
- We do not store your calculator inputs on our servers.
- We do not show ads inside the extension.
