  I have to admit, I was concerned when I saw the recent negative reviews but something about them seemed fishy! I'm happy to share they were/are, and now wonder if someone is trying to sabotage the business. I submitted contact/quote requests to 5 local businesses for bed edging, mulching, burying downspouts away from the house, some stone work, etc. Chad, the owner, contacted me the matter of 20 minutes literally (3 of the 4 other businesses with reputable names never even contacted me after a week). They had a opening in the schedule between two big jobs, worked with me on the quote to fit budget and needs, and Chad was prompt, courteous, and very helpful all the way through. He contacted me stating when they guys would be here, stopped out 3 different times over a small 2 day project, and the icing on the cake was the team of 4 guys doing the work. The team lead kept me up to speed and asked me a few preferences during the work which was awesome to have input, the other 3 gents appeared to be working hard, were very friendly, etc. I can't recommend them enough for the type of work I had done, and I will 100% be using their team for future landscaping/outdoor needs knowing they are a full-service business! Thanks Chad & Team for a job VERY well done!

  We ordered topsoil and found a fork, glass pieces, garbage, lots of rocks, etc. It was virtually unusable. We understand that there may be some things that get through the screener, but this was the worst topsoil we've ever got delivered. This company was also not helpful and refused to do anything to help resolve the situation. We were just referred to the company that they got the topsoil from. I'll give two stars as the mulch we ordered was fine. But the topsoil and customer service is not great.

  This company has billed for snow‑removal services that were not performed. I have clear video evidence showing that the work was not completed, yet the company still insisted the service had been done. This has made it very hard to trust their reliability or honesty. In addition, their communication is very poor. Reaching them is extremely difficult—phone calls go unanswered, emails receive no reply, and their voicemail box is almost always full, making it impossible to leave a message. Based on my experience, I would recommend this company. Clear communication and honest, accurate billing are basic expectations, and unfortunately, neither was met.

  I'm incredibly disappointed in CLS. We have been a customer of theirs for 3 years now, for weed control. We have a second property and contracted them to begin treating that property this year as well. To this point, our experience with them was positive. We got in touch with them in early MARCH of this year, to have Chad come check out a few things on our property and provide a quote for some spring cleanup, some grading/leveling work, and to take a look at our rock retaining wall and provide any recommendations on preventative maintenance. He came out mid-March to look at everything. I checked in at the end of March, because we hadn't received an estimate. I checked in again April 18th. And again May 4th. I asked if we should just find another contractor to do the work if they were too busy? I received the estimate May 6th. We didn't need the spring cleanup at that point, because we'd done it ourselves by then, and they told us that our rock wall was fine and no preventative maintenance was needed. (Side note, since that time, 6 of the rocks have fallen out and we're now needing to have repair work done instead of preventative work - exactly what I was trying to avoid.) We signed the estimate for the grading/leveling work and were told that they would be out mid-July to complete the work. I informed them that we would be having our driveway redone at the end of July so having this project done before then would be best. Fast forward to July 7th, I reach out to check in on scheduling and get the response that they are "still on track for mid-July for your project".... I asked, so next week sometime? To which she responded right away, "Yes it is possible, but we have other projects that were booked before yours to get done first. Change orders and weather can still all impact the timing." AND THAT'S THE LAST I EVER HEARD FROM THEM. My husband and I both called, left voicemails, and I sent multiple emails. Completely ghosted. Now, we're left scrambling, at the end of August, to find another contractor to do work we reached out for at the beginning of March. We were repeat customers, for years, who were placing increasingly more business with CLS. It's completely unprofessional and makes no sense. Not sure what's going on with the business but, as you can tell by the steady stream of reviews that all say the same thing, they don't prioritize communication or follow through - two things that are necessary when you run a service business. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere if you want a reliable contractor who will actually get the job done.

  I would love to know what you put on our lawn since we are NOT customers of yours. I've tried calling, emailing, Facebook messaging, and now this review. I have dogs I would like to keep safe and healthy. Totally unacceptable. I need a response.
