  I’ve visited Vande Hey Company in Little Chute many times for plants and garden décor, and every experience has been fantastic. Their team is incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions or offer helpful recommendations, whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just getting started. They have a beautiful, well-cared-for selection, and it’s clear they take pride in everything they do. I always leave feeling confident in my purchases. I’ve also attended events there through work, including classes and their Grilling Guys feature, and they’re always a great time. Everything is well organized, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable.

  We are facing a product issue that has been compounded by recurring customer service issues. My husband and I have consistently experienced unprofessional behavior, including a lack of follow-through and abrupt call terminations. Despite our proactive attempts to communicate, we have had to request updates on the agreed-upon solution, which remains pending due to the ongoing customer service shortcomings. We would appreciate insight into whether this is a typical response to customer service inquiries and the recommended course of action.

  What an awful experience this has been working with them. Not just poor quality product and craftsmanship but the people I’ve encountered along the way lack care, have been dishonest with me at times, and would rather make excuses than ever showing empathy or accountability. Long story short, hired them for a concrete patio, pergola, and grill surround in 2014. First mistake was they didn’t pour footings for our 3 tier steps which then caused two large cracks over 20’ each, within a couple months of install. They told me this is normal even though none of it ran to the relief lines, instead cracked just outside our unsupported steps. Tried patching it for me as parts of the concrete crumbled but they did a terrible job. This also caused issues with the seal coat. Still I lived with the blemishes on my brand new patio as they refused to do anything else for it. Each year we watched our patio sink. In some areas it’s been 6”. I was concerned with the lack of base they put under at time of install. They ignored me and now are saying this is all normal and looks like a WI patio to them. They ran conduit under the patio and up my pergola. That wire is about to snap, the conduit pipe they told me to repair on my own years ago as it separated shortly after install because of the excess sinking. A few years back I had them out to repair my house wall. They put no moisture barrier behind the steps after I noticed the house sheething was crumbling from the rot. They outsourced the work, guy did a fine job but there’s still not appropriate flashing and the patio continues to sink causing more water to get behind it all. I’m extremely concerned with the damage this has caused to the structural integrity of our home. So I called to have someone out again a couple weeks ago. The lady over the phone was kind and treated my concerns with urgency. They said they were bringing it to the top, their VP of Sales, Phil. I’ve never been more offended with any contractor at my house. He showed up over 20 mins early before I was ready, he told me he didn’t look at my file before he came, he deflected every question I had about footings, code, and how we could find a solution. He asked me how old the house was which I told him 18 years… he says right after that well it does take soil 19 years to fully settle. Are you kidding me??? He wanted to argue with me on the amount of sinking below our patio door, said it was only an inch of settling and looked at me like I was stupid after I said it was more than 3”. Well he should be able to see now that he was wrong by the picture I’ve included here. Then after all that we shook hands and he agreed to contact me the following Monday or Tuesday. Still haven’t heard back, he’s a week late. Just absolutely disgusted with the entire experience and specifically how he treated me on this last visit. They’ve been in business for a long time, which was a big reason I went with them. The people make the company and in every encounter I’ve realized how poorly run this company is. Plenty of other options out there for any landscaping needs.

  Team came out and evaluated my property twice to ensure they understood what I was looking for. They asked my questions and curiosities. I learned a lot from the Arborist. Tree removal kept within a day, appointments could be tracked online. Very clean and respectful to my neighbors. Could be better at phone communication but definitely will be calling again!

  We would like to give Nick a huge thank you. Our pump stopped working while we were out of town. I called on Wednesday and by Friday of Memorial Day weekend Nick was at our house installing our new pump. He kept us in the loop the entire time during installation and he went above and beyond by cleaning the pool before he left for the holiday weekend. It’s the little things that matter! Thank you Nick! We have one happy 11yr old.
